However, the true power of this racquet is visible in back-hand slices. You get to see how to breeze it feels to hit the racquet and how precisely you can control your shot.
The VCORE is all about that power and spin. You will get much more spin from this one as the lightweight makes it easy to slice in whichever direction you want.
But not everyone feels comfortable with the lightweight design of such a big frame. What you can do is use the Solinco Hyper G strings which will add a bit of weight when strung.
The added weight will not compromise your power or spin in any way though, Yonex did a good job at designing the frame to be at the top of performance, regardless of the scenario.
The customizability is another important factor of the VCORE 95 and it is also one of those aspects that makes this racquet such a good one. Using lead tape will help you get better control over your shots. You can add weights as per your choice to make things more stable and rest assured, it will not hamper the performance in any way.
Another important thing to note about the VCORE 95 is the isometric head shape. The isometric shape of the racquet allows the sweet spot to be larger on this one and it does feel considerably good in hit with force.
Sure enough, the hitting won’t be as sweet as the VCORE 98 which has even better control over shots. But this makes things even better mainly because of two reasons.
The weight of this one is significantly lower compared to the VCORE 98 and you still get the same amount of precise control over the racquet. This makes hitting the VCORE 95 a run in the park and if you hit with added force, it will simply blaze through your opponent.
One of the issues that you may face with this racquet doesn’t have anything to do with the frames or strings. Rather it’s the grip shape. Most of the racquets that you may see out there have a hexagonal grip shape. But with the VCORE 95, you are getting around grip shape.
This in itself is not such a big deal but it does take some getting used to. You need to play around with it for quite some time before it gets to you.
One major downside of this racquet has to be the lack of high-end stability. See the main problem here is the frame size. At 95 inches, it does fall in between large heads and small heads and it all can be a bit tricky at times.
The isometric design also makes for the sweet center to be a bit larger than average. But if you miss it be an inch even, the racquet starts to wobble.
The instability becomes very apparent in such scenarios and frankly, if you are not a pro in using this one, you are going to have a tough time maintaining control over your shot. The lack of weight in the frame means it is not as durable as the previous models and you will have issues deflecting high-powered shots.
But the ease of swing makes things far easier and you get to feel that when you get to draw power from the baseline.
Overall, in our opinion, the Yonex VCORE 95 is an amazing racquet. It won’t provide you with the control of Head racquets or the spin of Babolat but it has somewhat created a space for itself. And that is what makes this racquet unique.
You get a mix of everything with this racquet. Sure enough, it is not all good with this one and it has certain issues with it as well. But you do get the hang of things as you play along with the VCORE 95.
